HF Foods Group

Our roots

Sourcing the world
for American kitchens.

HF Foods grew out of a generation of operators who knew that an independent restaurant deserves more than a one-size-fits-all distributor. Today we serve thousands of those kitchens from a network of distribution centers across the United States — sourcing fresh, frozen, and specialty ingredients from producers around the world.

Where our products come from

Three continents.
One supply chain.

Our buyers source the way restaurant operators would, if they had time to source. From specialty produce in the Americas to authentic pantry staples from Asia, we negotiate at scale — but we curate at the case level.

  • United States

Direct relationships with regional growers, ranchers, and specialty producers. Our DC network sits close to where the food is grown so the cold chain stays cold.

  • South America

Specialty produce, proteins, and ingredients. Long-running supplier partnerships in the regions where the product is at its best.

  • China

Authentic pantry staples and specialty ingredients from suppliers we have worked with for decades. Our buyers travel the trade lane personally.

Specialty by design

Curated for restaurants — not big-box buying.

Specialty distribution means knowing what your customers actually need. The jasmine rice from that mill. The fish sauce from that family. The chili oil from that producer. Our buyers know the products by name — and our reps know which ones belong on your menu.

Personal service

Reps who speak your kitchen's language.

The American restaurant industry is multilingual. So is HF Foods. Our sales team includes Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Spanish speakers — paired to your kitchen so you don't repeat yourself across language. We also support WeChat-based service for customers who prefer it.

  • Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Spanish-speaking reps
  • WeChat customer service for customers who prefer it
  • Consistent rep relationship — same person for the life of your account
  • Direct lines to your buyer when you need a specialty source

The HF Foods Group story

How HF Foods Group came to be.

Several immigrant entrepreneurs and the businesses they built — quietly — eventually came together as one publicly traded national distributor.

  1. A Cuisine Culture

Ambitious immigrants from China moved to the USA to live the American dream, starting their own restaurants and bringing their families with them.

  2. Growth through Inspiration

Several entrepreneurs were driving their supplies between restaurants, sometimes over several states, inspiring them to start their own distribution businesses.

  3. Booming Business

As these enterprises grew, several distribution centers came together to form two companies: Han Feng, serving the East coast, and B&R Global, serving the West coast.

  4. HF Foods Group

Han Feng went public in 2018, and later acquired B&R Global, forming the company we know today as HF Foods Group.

  5. Expanding to Seafood

HF Foods Group expanded its market reach in the seafood category after acquiring additional entities in IL, TX and VA.

  6. Technology Advancements

Investments into updated technology allow for efficient procurement and enhanced distribution capabilities to grow the business.
